A model of Micromark heater has been found in the past to have been responsible for several fires in London. Fires involved a hospital, a school and student halls.

A defect was identified in a loose or poorly fitting terminal block which causes the heater to become hot with use and catch fire. It is important that units with the same model and batch numbers found in and about commercial or domestic premises, be identified and taken out of use to avoid the potential of a fire starting.
